Courtesy Call from Sri Lankan Ambassador to Indonesia
Diar Nurbintoro, Acting Director of the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC), Assistant Director for Program Niken Supraba, and Assistant Director for Administration and Finance received a courtesy call from Sri Lankan Ambassador to Indonesia Yasoja Gunasekera on 14 September 2022 at the NAM CSSTC office.
Gunasekera expressed her acknowledgement for receiving various reports on the implementation of the NAM CSSTC programme throughout 2021 and 2022.
Diar responded by expressing his gratitude for the Sri Lankan community's participation in the technical cooperation programme held by NAM CSSTC, both as partners and participants.
Acting Director Diar also discussed the outcomes of these programmes for Sri Lanka's agricultural sector, which were held in collaboration with the International Coconut Community (ICC).
Niken stated that the agricultural sector, including rice-aquaculture, can be explored within the framework of technical cooperation in order to achieve food security through increased rice production, freshwater fish commodities, and water conservation.
Diar stated that handicrafts fields for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) could also be one of the opportunities in the technical cooperation programme.
The Sri Lankan Embassy is interested in the two areas being explored and hopes that the implementation of technical cooperation will be a solution to increase the Sri Lankan people's economic resilience.
