NAM CSSTC Met for the First Time with the SICA and CEPREDENAC
On July 20, 2022, the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) met for the first time with the Secretariat of the Sistema de la Integracion Centroamericana (SICA) and the Centro de Coordinacion para la Prevencion de los Desastres Naturales es America Central to plan a multiyear project in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction. The virtual meeting was intended to discuss the "Online Training Course on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation for CARICOM and SICA Member Countries" training activities, as well as the face-to-face follow-up training programme in 2023.
The cost of financing the training programme will be charged proportionally, with NAM CSSTC fully funding the training in 2022 and the Government of Indonesia fully funding it in 2023.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, as the Government of Indonesia's representative, was present as the activity's implementing partner, stating that a grant agreement between Indonesia and SICA on disaster-related projects will be signed in the near future.
