The NAM CSSTC Took Part in the International Coconut Genetic Resources-Southeast Asia and East Asia Appraisal Activity
The Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) took part in the International Coconut Genetic Resources-Southeast Asia and East Asia (ICG-SEA) appraisal activity, which was coordinated by the International Coconut Community (ICC). The NAM CSSTC group also visited a number of Pilot Plantations in North Sulawesi that are overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. The Pilot Plantation will act as a genetic repository for Southeast Asian and East Asian coconuts. The visit to Manado by NAM CSSTC is the first activity in 2022 that NAM CSSTC participates in with ICC, following a meeting in December 2021 between the two institutions to discuss preparations for a cooperation programme in 2022.
At the conclusion of the ICG-SEA Appraisal, NAM CSSTC and ICC signed the Second Addendum agreement, which constituted the umbrella for cooperation between the two institutions in the coconut sector in 2022.
