Ambassador Ronny Became a Resource Person at a Workshop
The Director for Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC), was appointed as one of resource persons during a workshop conducted between 18th and 19th September, 2019 at Sari-Pan Pacific Hotel Jakarta, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Republic of Indonesia c.q. Policy Analysis and Development Agency and South Centre.
The workshop focused on cohesive measures to allow access to affordable medicinal products and addressed key topics relevant to the contemporary intellectual property (IP) and the agenda for public health in Indonesia and around the world.
The first session was dedicated to Professor Carlos M. Correa (Executive Director for South Centre) providing the general framework on IP for pharmaceuticals and to the discussion of Cecilia Oh (United Nations Development Programme Bangkok Regional Hub) focusing on the policy coherence between relevant ministries. Director for NAM CSSTC gave a presentation on the “Perspective from the South on the Coherence of Trade and Health Policies.”
The Workshop was attended by 18 participants from 13 developing countries: Afghanistan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, India, Jordan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam and Timor-Leste.
