Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation Annual Performance Report 2018
Performance report reflects Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) accountability for carrying out all parts of its roles as set out in outcome document of 11th NAM Summit in 1995 in Cartagena, Colombia. In addition, it is also intended to apply the provision to publish report on the activities of the NAM CSSTC, as set out in Minister for Foreign Affairs – Republic of Indonesia Decree No: 08/B/KP/VII/2018/01 appointed Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro as Director for NAM CSSTC.
The report is expected to provide NAM CSSTC advisers and various parties information which should be regarded as an important aspect for formulation of South-South technical cooperation initiatives. In addition, the transparency and accountability of financial information in report builds constructive feedback into the performance management at NAM CSSTC.
As an informative summary, we convey that the NAM CSSTC built its own mosaic throughout 2018. Advancements have been achieved. All advancements would not have been made possible without the support of actors from different sectors.
A major achievement consisted of the implementation of the “International Training on Fisheries for Asian and the Pacific Countries” and “International Training on Aquaculture for African Countries.” In cooperation with the Directorate General of Information and Public Diplomacy Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Training Centre of Fisheries in Banyuwangi, we managed to involve more Non-Aligned countries as the participants.
In addition to training on fisheries, NAM CSSTC in cooperation with partners also implemented 11 activities in the field of agriculture, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), maritime and health. Expansion of the scope of the field is expected to sustain economic growth above the average rate of developing countries, that will further strengthen the South-South technical cooperation.
NAM CSSTC also produced profile brochure. The brochure highlighted NAM CSSTC influential work for each strategic theme and wrapped to build interest in millennials. We are optimistic that the brochure deemed to be reliable catalyst for NAM CSSTC branding in international forums.
Donor contributions to NAM CSSTC has been allocated optimally. Resources were used in an effective and accountable way, so that 12 programmes had received funding from NAM CSSTC.
Finally, we would like to thank the Government of Indonesia and actors from different sectors for unprecedented support for the implementation of NAM CSSTC activities in 2018.
