Technical Agreement Signed Between NAM CSSTC and Faculty of Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada in Effort to Support The Development of Human Resource and Renewable Energy Through ASTECHNOVA 2019

As part of its commitment to support the development of renewable energy and human resource, Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) and Faculty of Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada have signed a Technical Agreement to co-organise the “ASTECHNOVA 2019” international conference. The conference will be held in Yogyakarta from October 30th to November 1st under the theme “Energy Innovations and Sustainable Environment.”
Director for NAM CSSTC, Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro emphasized the role of capacity-building implemented by NAM CSSTC in enhancing economic diplomacy, during discussion on arrangement for field trip to Centre for Agro-Technology Innovation on the sidelines of attending ASTECHNOVA 2019.
Staffs of Centre for Agro-Technology Innovation gave tour to Director for NAM CSSTC in Gene Bank Ewindo, House of Recycling Innovation (RINDU) and Teaching Farm. Innovations developed by the Centre showcase development of agro-technology. Some of the sites are suitable for ASTECHNOVA field trips. Commitments from relevant stakeholders are expected to provide important benefits to ensure transformation of the Centre to Agro Science Techno Campus, increasing interest among Non-Aligned countries, and cooperation in the agricultural sector.
ASTECHNOVA 2019 is a continuation of cooperation between Faculty of Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada and NAM CSSTC in “ASTECHNOVA 2017” to develop science-based solutions for sustainable agricultural development and renewable energy. The Conference will be open to participation by all member countries of the Non-Alignment Movement that include practitioners, researchers and academia with commitment to pursue the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advance South-South cooperation.
