Courtesy calls of the new Director of NAM CSSTC to the present Chair of NAM (Ambassador of Venezuela) and the Governing Council (GC) members of NAM CSSTC (Ambassador of South Africa, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam and Ambassador of Cuba) in Jakarta. The main purpose of the meetings is to encourage a wider participation of NAM member countries in the program activities of NAM CSSTC.

The Director of NAM CSSTC, H.E. Prianti Gagarin Djatmiko-Singgih made courtesy calls to Chair of NAM and GC Members of NAM CSSTC in August and September 2017. The outcomes of the meetings are as follows:


The Ambassador of Venezuela, H.E. Gladys Urbaneja Duran in her capacity as the Chair of NAM requested the headquarters to jointly host a regional capacity building programme next year (2018) on integrated rural development for Latin American Countries, members of NAM in Venezuela. She also served as a resource person in the first Village Development Forum (VDF) held in Jakarta. In collaboration with the Ministry for Village, Disadvantaged regions and Transmigration.

 

The Ambassador of South Africa, H.E. Pakamisa Augustine Sifuba participated in the VDF as well. He welcomed the plan for a signing ceremony event of the MOU between the NAM CSSTC with IORA during as the GC member.

 

The Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Dato Yussof Abdul Rahman, being a the GC member, shall bring the Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs’ message conveyed by the Director of NAM CSSTC to the Government of Brunei Darussalam to engage more actively in the activities of NAM CSSTC as done in the past.

 

The Ambassador of Cuba, H.E. Nirsia Castro Guevara also as the GC member shall request the headquarters to send an expert of energy to be a resource person for the International Conference on Energy (Astechnova 2017) in Yogyakarta. She took note that Cuba had sent two experts to the similar energy conferences in 2015 and 2016.
