The Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) welcomed an official delegation from the African Union Commission (AUC) on 10 July 2026 as part of the Commission's official mission to Indonesia. The delegation was led by the Director of Partnership Management and Resource Mobilization (PMRM) and aimed to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and the African Union, particularly within the framework of South-South Cooperation.
During the meeting, the AUC delegation highlighted that its visit to Indonesia reflects the growing importance of collaboration among developing countries and forms part of broader efforts to strengthen partnerships with both Indonesia and ASEAN. The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing cooperation across the Global South to promote greater self-reliance among African Union Member States through the effective utilization of their respective resources. The delegation also noted the African Union's growing role in global governance following its admission as a permanent member of the G20.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore concrete collaborative activities between the two institutions. The African Union Commission welcomed NAM CSSTC's proposal to organize joint webinars and knowledge-sharing programs covering strategic sectors of mutual interest, including international trade under the World Trade Organization (WTO) framework, public health through the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), as well as other areas that support sustainable development and South-South Cooperation.
