NAM CSSTC Participates in the South–South Ocean Accounting Exchange 2026 in Bogor
Bogor, 30 March - 1 April 2026, Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) participated in the South-South Ocean Accounting Exchange 2026 held in Bogor, Indonesia. The event was organized by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, IPB University, Rekam Nusantara Foundation, Global Ocean Accounts Partnership and the Embassy of United Kingdom.
The exchange brought together practitioners, policymakers, academics, and technical experts from 18 countries across Asia-Pacific, Africa, Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and Latin America and the Caribbean to share experiences and discuss the development of ocean accounting to support sustainable development.
A key outcome of the exchange program was the formulation of the Bogor Strategic Action Plan on South–South Collaboration to Accelerate Ocean Accounting for Sustainable Development, which outlines strategic actions including strengthening national marine data coordination, developing integrated ocean data platforms, enhancing technical capacity for statistical ocean accounts, and promoting long-term data investment. The Action Plan also emphasizes linking ocean accounting with blue finance mechanisms such as blue bonds and blue carbon markets, as well as integrating ocean accounting into national planning frameworks and South–South cooperation initiatives.
During the event, NAM CSSTC also took the opportunity to engage with participating stakeholders and establish initial connections with relevant partners in the ocean accounting sector. The Centre looks forward to further involvement in future initiatives and to exploring collaborative opportunities in advancing ocean accounting and sustainable blue economy development.
