Rekindling Collaboration Between NAM-CSSTC and Colombo Plan
Colombo, Sri lanka – 27 November 2024.
On November 27, 2024, the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM-CSSTC) conducted a courtesy call to the Secretary-General of Colombo Plan, Dr. Benjamin P. Reyes, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The meeting, led by H.E. Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro, Director of NAM-CSSTC, marked an important step in strengthening ties between the two institutions after several years.
Key discussions included Colombo Plan’s active Drug Advisory Program (DAP), which focuses on combating drug trafficking among its member states, and its tailored capacity-building programs offering 2-4 activities annually with travel support for participants. Notably, both institutions agreed that microfinance could serve as a collaborative program, continuing a successful initiative from 2010.
Ambassador Diar emphasized the significance of this renewed dialogue, expressing optimism for rekindling impactful cooperation. “This meeting signifies an opportunity to revisit and revitalize collaborative efforts that bring tangible benefits to our member countries,” he stated. NAM-CSSTC is eager to build on this foundation and explore further opportunities for strategic partnership with Colombo Plan to address shared development priorities.
