Strategic Collaboration Between NAM CSSTC and NAM S&T Centre
New Delhi, India – 22 November 2024.
On November 22, 2024, the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) held a pivotal meeting with the Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre) in New Delhi, India. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to strengthen strategic collaboration in science and technology for the years to come.
The Director of NAM CSSTC, H.E. Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro, emphasized the significance of this partnership, expressing a firm commitment to ensuring its tangible impact on Non-Aligned Movement member states and other developing countries. The MoU outlines several key initiatives, including the periodic organization of international workshops and training on relevant and critical topics, the publication of scientific works in international outlets to advance knowledge, and the dissemination of fact files and other relevant documents to share insights on emerging issues of importance.
Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro highlighted that this partnership not only strengthens ties between the two NAM centers but also sets a precedent for strategic collaboration among other NAM entities. He stated, "This MoU paves the way for concrete actions to address global challenges through robust cooperation in science and technology."
Through this collaboration, NAM-CSSTC and NAM S&T Centre aim to enhance their contributions to the development of science and technology in developing countries, while fostering innovation and broader cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement framework.
