NAM CSSTC Director's Insights at Refreshment Course Session for Capacity Building Program on the Palm Oil
Bogor, Indonesia – 24 June 2024, The Director of the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC), H.E. Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro, recently participated as a resource person at a Refreshment Course session at a specialized training session focused on Capacity Building and Training on the Palm Oil Sustainable Commodity Management based on Small-holder Farming for Like-Minded Countries (LMCs). During his presentation, the Director underscored the importance of diversifying processed palm oil products – such as animal feed, tools, and biomass – as a strategy to enhance sustainability and minimize waste in the palm oil production process.
Ambassador Nurbintoro also emphasized that the diversification of palm oil products not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also offers economic benefits by creating new market opportunities. By reducing waste, the palm oil industry can become more efficient and eco-friendlier, aligning with global sustainability goals.
Furthermore, the presentation highlighted Indonesia's role as a leading producer of palm oil, showcasing the country's extensive expertise in this field. Indonesia has been at the forefront of diversifying and adding value to palm oil products. Moreover, the presentation aimed to showcase NAM CSSTC's pivotal role in facilitating capacity building programs related to palm oil for both member and non-member countries. Ambassador Nurbintoro expressed his hope that participating countries would gain a deeper understanding of NAM CSSTC's initiatives and establish further communication to explore other capacity building activities.
