Courtesy Meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to Indonesia to Foster Collaboration and Explore Opportunities
Jakarta, Indonesia, 26 March 2024 – In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties and explore avenues of opportunities, the Director of the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC), H.E. Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro, had a courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to Indonesia, H.E. Ambassador Jacobo Cuyún Salguero at the NAM CSSTC headquarters in Jakarta. The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, aimed to discuss the upcoming NAM CSSTC’s programs and explore the opportunities for Guatemala to participate in the future NAM CSSTC programs.
The director of NAM CSSTC provided Ambassador Jacobo Cuyún Salguero with insights into its recent initiatives involving NAM member states. These initiatives included the future collaboration the agriculture sector with PT. Wilmar, highlighting on Palm Oil initiatives. Additionally, the director identified a financial issue as one of the most significant challenges in the NAM CSSTC program implementation. This concern could be rectified through a potential partnership with the Islamic Development Bank.
H.E. Jacobo Cuyún Salguero expressed his appreciation for the NAM CSSTC initiatives, highlighting the shared commitment to promote South-South cooperation as a means to address common challenges and achieve inclusive growth. Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized Guatemala's potential the ability to participate in the NAM CSSTC program. Both parties underscored the importance of collaboration in areas such as agriculture and financial sector, recognizing the potential for joint initiatives to drive innovation and socioeconomic progress.
The fruitful exchange concluded with both sides expressing optimism about the prospects for fruitful participation in collaboration and looking forward to further engagements to translate their shared aspirations into concrete actions with a shared vision of harnessing the power of South-South collaboration to build a better future for NAM CSSTC member states and beyond.
