NAM CSSTC’s Participation in Gathering Organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jakarta
Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) participated in Gathering organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jakarta on 24th April, 2019 which took place in the ASEAN Room 4 of Sultan Hotel, Jakarta. The participation was intended to explore Azerbaijan’s vision as the Chair of NAM for the period 2019 – 2022.
The Gathering was also attended by ASEAN Secretariat, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and representatives of ASEAN member states.
According to presentation by Azerbaijan Head of Mission, Ruslan Nasibov, there will be three main priorities under Azerbaijan’s leadership in NAM, including:
- Promotion of Bandung Ten Principles’ implementation;
- Strengthening unity among NAM member countries to guarantee concrete actions that answer current challenges; and
- Increasing effectiveness of NAM by encouraging NAM’s active roles in international for a.
The Republic of Azerbaijan will become the Chair of NAM in October through inauguration of 2019 NAM Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, which will succeed a series of preparatory meetings taking place in July 2019.
